The Sony Xperia Z1S leak-fest continues with some new shots and info coming from China. The diminutive flagship is shown running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (14.2.A.0.205 firmware), which is presumably the software it will launch with.
Speaking of launch, according to the new info the phone will launch in the first quarter of next year (could be announced as soon as today) and will cost CNY 3,600 in China which translates to $590 / €440. For comparison, the full-sized Xperia Z1 costs CNY 3,820 ($630).

Anyway, the price and launch target are unconfirmed, but aside from the smaller screen (4.3" 720p vs. 5" 1080p) and a smaller battery (2,300mAh vs. 3,000mAh), the Sony Xperia Z1S will have the same hardware as the big Z1. That includes the powerful Snapdragon 800 chipset, 20MP camera with Sony G Lens (which you can see in the photo) and the IP58 water-resistance certification.
By the way, those aren’t the first shots of the two Xperia Z1s together.

Sony was among the first manufacturers to reveal its plans to launch Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade for its phones. The first wave of devices includes the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and theXperia Tablet Z. Now, Sony has hinted in its support pages that the Xperia SP will be getting the update, as well as revealed the devices that are currently "under investigation".
The phones in question are the Sony Xperia T, Xperia TX, Xperia V as well as the Xperia ZR. This means the company is researching whether KitKat will run smoothly enough on those phones.
Google has already announced that the 4.4 KitKat is designed to scale and automatically fit on the devices with as little as 512 MB of RAM. So, it's pretty likely that more mid-range Sony phones will be able to make it to Android 4.4.
It's too early to talk about a specific time frame for the software rollout for the Xperia T, TX, V and the ZR. However, the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Tablet Z will be getting the KitKat update by the end of the year.

A limited edition red model of the Sony Xperia Z1 has leaked on the interweb. While not a huge deal on its own, the said handset was spotted running Android 4.4 KitKat.

There is no information about when this device will be released and in which markets but it does look quite lovely in that shade of red. Moreover, the version of Android is 4.4.2, which is newer than even that found on the Nexus 5.

Sony has already made an announcement regarding the availability of KitKat on their current Xperia models but without giving a clear date. We'll have to just wait and see when the update and this particular phone are officially available.

Apple had problems launching the iPad mini 2, but after the tablet went on sale on November 12 you might have thought that the problems have been resolved. Maybe they haven't, at least not fully.
The Cellular version of the Apple iPad mini 2 is on backorder on all the major US carriers. Verizon's shipping date slipped from November 25 to December 2, Sprint is saying the tablet will ship in up to 2 weeks, AT&T will take 3-4 weeks to ship, while T-Mobile might not manage before Christmas with 6-8 week shipping delay.
Surprisingly, Apple's web site still lists the original 5-10 business days for shipping it did when the iPad mini 2 launched. Availability for store pickup is very limited at the moment.
Things over in Europe are a mixed bag – T-Mobile Germany will ship the iPad mini 2 with Cellular in 2-3 weeks, while Three UKsays it has it in stock and will ship it instantly.

Seorang bocah sangat menginginkan sebuah sepeda

baru untuk hadiah Ulang tahunnya. Karena itu, ia

menyiapkan segelas susu untuk ayahnya yang ia harap

sepulang dari kerja sang ayah melihatnya dan

kemudian memberikannya sebuah sepeda baru.

Dan benar, saat ayahnya pulang kerja begitu

larutnya, Sang ayah pun melihat segelas susu dengan

label “Untuk Papaku Tercinta” tersebut, ia sangat

senang. Di malam yang dingin, ia pun meneguk habis

susu hangat yang disiapkan oleh anaknya tadi.

Setelah menghabiskan susu segelas itu, ia menemukan

sepucuk surat di samping gelas susu tadi, tertulis:

“Papa, jika papa menaruh sebuah sepeda baru di

depan kamarku, aku akan berikan penawar racun yang

aku campur dalam susu yang papa minum. Timmy.”

Suatu pagi Mahmud mengantar anaknya mendaftar disebuah Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) pada awal tahun ajaran baru.
Suasana di TK sangat ramai, maklum awal tahun ajaran baru, sehingga dipenuhi para orang-tua yang sangat berminat untuk menyekolahkan anaknya disana.


Nggak lama kemudian, loket Panitia Pendaftaran TK dibuka, dan Panitia pendaftaran mulai mendata pendaftar sesuai urutan pendaftaran.
Dengan ramah seorang Guru Tk yang juga Anggota Panitia Pendaftaran menanyai anak-anak: "Adik, mau daftar sekolah ya. Si Cakep ini boleh dong sebutin namanya,,,?"
Anak tersebut dengan semangat menjawab: "Panji Tante,,,!"
Sambil tersenyum dan menulis, Panitia itu ngomong lagi: " Wah, papanya pasti suka nonton film Panji Sang Jagoan yang ada di TV itu ya,,,Dan panggil Ibu ya, jangan Tante,,,?"
"Nah, kalau adik yang gagah disebelah Panji ini siapa namanya,,,?" Pantia Pendafraran melanjutkan ke urutan pendafar selanjutnya.
"Saya Harry,,,Tante eh Bu,,," kata anak itu sambil memperbaiki panggilan Tante menjadi Ibu.
"Adik ini pasti papinya suka nonton Harry Potter nih,,,!' Celetuk salah seorg panitia yang lain sambil tersenyum.
Nggak lama kemudian Mahmud yang tinggal menunggu dua anak lagi sebelum tiba gilirannya sampai, sontak berdiri sambil menarik tangan anaknya dengan tergesa-gesa:
"Miyabi,,,anak Bapak yang cantik, kita cari sekolah yang lain aja yah,,,! Sekolah yang nggak pake tanya-tanya asal usul orang tua ngasih nama anaknya,,,!"

128 GB Meizu MX3 goes on sale in China

Meizu unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the MX3 a while ago. Back then, the company had also announced the availability of the 128GB model along with the 16, 32 and 64GB versions.
The 128GB model of the Meizu MX3, is the first smartphone to feature such an extensive internal storage (although 128GB was achievable with the help of a microSD slot earlier), is now available in China for a price of CNY3,999 (about $660).
However, the 128GB variant of the Octa-core smartphone works only on the TD-SCDMA networks, which means that the device will be functional only on the Chinese mobile networks for now. Unfortunately, there is no word on the global availability of the 128GB variant.

The Sony Xperia Z1S surely must be drawing closer to a release, right? It just showed up on Postel (the Indonesian equivalent of the FCC), which coincides with a brand new rumor of a Shanghai event.


The Xperia Z1S has the model number D5503 and is sometimes called Z1 mini. A couple of spy shotsnext to its bigger sibling reveal the reason for the "mini" moniker – it has a 4.3" 720p screen instead of 5" 1080p, but keeps the Snapdragon 800 chipset and 20MP camera of the big Z1.
Anyway, the first time we heard of a launch at a Shanghai event, the planned date was November 12. The 12th came and went with no Xperia Z1S, but the phone did briefly show up on Sony China's web site.
The latest Shanghai event rumor is that the date is November 22, two days from now. Xperia Z1S cases on Amazon do lend some credence to that as they would ship by November 26.
The rumor also states that there will be a second device, the Xperia Tianchi (it was Taichi the first time around). The Tianchi will be a 6" phablet with a 720p screen and a MediaTek octa-core chipset, aimed at the likes of Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Lumia 1320.

There were more than a few hearts a-flutter yesterday as a phantom listing of a device branded as the Xperia Z1S made an appearance on Sony's website only to be taken down shortly after that. This made many people bet the house on an official announcement from Sony in today's anticipated event in Shanghai, which has since turned out to be fake.
Nevertheless the rumors surrounding a mini version of Sony's flagship continue. The latest one centers on an image with .EXIF data pointing to a Sony D5503 device, which some sources claim is the Xperia Z1S under Sony's new flagship numbering scheme.
The .EXIF data points to a 14.2.A.0.204 firmware version, which is based on Android 4.3 (but this is also unconfirmed).
As far as rumors of Sony's new numbering scheme go, starting in 2014, new Sony midrange smartphones will carry the D5xxx numbering scheme, while flagships will go by D6xxx. This does have a ring of truth in it, as 2013 models have followed this convention except with the C prefix (the Xperia Z1variants, for example, start with C69xx). In 2015, models will move onto the E prefix, and so on.
Hopefully, this latest set of rumors involving a 2014 release of the Z1S turn out to be unfounded, as we're really hoping for a compact Sony offering in time for the holidays.

It's getting popular for case-makers to leak info on phones – Kolay is the latest to join the trend, puttinga bunch of cases for the Sony Xperia Z1S up for pre-order. The Z1S, as you probably know, is yet to be officially unveiled.


Earlier rumors pointed to a launch yesterday but that didn’t pan out. Now all the Kolay cases for the Xperia Z1S are listed with an November 26 shipping date. This could be just made up by Kolay to grab some attention, but the Nexus 5 case leaks proved quite legitimate.
The phone in the image of the cases seems to be the Xperia Z though and not like the leaked press image, so it's most likely not a leak of the real Z1S look. The Xperia Z1S did show up on Sony's web site recently, so the launch can't be too far away.

The Sony Xperia Z1S just refuses to stay out of trouble and has leaked yet again. This time we got live photos and some early impressions of the device.
The Xperia Z1S was photographed next to a ruler, which seems to confirm the rumored measurements of 127 x 64.9mm. The device also reports a model number D5503, which matches the one found in the EXIF info from the leaked photo yesterday.

Other than that, the Sony Xperia Z1S in the photo differs slightly from the leaked press image, specifically in the front-facing camera and the 3.5mm audio jack.
The tipster that took the photo reported that almost everything worked smoothly except for the occasional hiccup in the launcher (but this is early pre-release software). The design was praised, though the volume rocker and the flap that covers the microUSB port (that's for the IP58 water-resistant specification) were criticized.
The side of the phone has two pogo pins (visible in the fourth photo above) for charging via a dock, similar to those on the Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra.

We've encountered yet another image of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z1S, sitting next to the Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1S is taunted as the international version of the NTT DoCoMo Japan-exclusive Xperia Z1F.
According to the source of the image the picture handset is Xperia Amami, but the widely rumored Xperia Z1S name hasn't been confirmed by Sony just yet.


We've already seen a similar image a couple of days ago. And earlier we also got a glimpse of the UI.
There's no way to know when Sony will be releasing an international Xperia Z1 mini, but it shouldn't take long now with the holiday season fast approaching.

The Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy S4 already got their Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates and now a report by a Twitter user Bhanu suggests the Galaxy Note II is next in line. The Android 4.3 build for the phablet has hit Samsung service centers, hinting that the OTA update is imminent.
The firmware version of the update is N7100XXUEMJ9 and is built on October 31. The latest version of Jelly Bean is going to treat the Note II users with support for Galaxy Gear smartwatch and will add TRIM capabilities resulting in faster user interface interaction.
Samsung hasn't provided official information regarding a specific date for the update's release. Anyhow, check out the rest of the features the update will bring.

Karbonn announces 1080p Titanium X

Karbonn, the Indian smartphone manufacturer has announced its latest device, the Titanium X.


Titanium X sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The smartphone features a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, 5 -megapixel front shooter and supports NFC.
Karbonn's newest addition runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and the juice for the smartphone comes from a 2,300mAh battery. Unfortunately, there's no information about the RAM available on board.
Karbonn Titanium X is expected to go on sale shortly, but it's pricing is yet to be confirmed.

Samsung I8800 Redwood shows up in benchmarks

Samsung has yet to release a Tizen phone, but the leaks keep coming. The Samsung I8800 "Redwood" (sometimes Z9005) cropped up once again with an appearance in benchmark results.
The I8800 Redwood first leaked in late May this year and then Samsung shipped samples to developers in mid-August, which resulted in a hands-on video in early November. The latest in this chain is a BrowserMark 2 score.
The average score the Tizen phone achieved was 2,828. For comparison, a shiny new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 scores 3,041 and that's with a much more powerful Snapdragon 800 chipset. The Samsung I8800 runs on a chipset that's two generations older – an Exynos 4412 (quad-core Cortex-A9, Mali-400), the same chipset that powered the Galaxy S III.
Samsung announced a Tizen-powered camera, a version of the Android-powered Galaxy NX, but Tizen phones don't seem any closer even with this latest leak.

Xiaomi sells 220,000 smartphones in 3 minutes

It wasn't long ago that we reported that Xiaomi sold its 100,000 HongMi smartphones in about two minutes. The Chinese manufacturer has done it again, and this time the company has managed to sell its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi MI3 at a similarly brisk pace.
Xiaomi has sold 110,000 units of HongMi and MI-2s in a few minutes in a sale done to celebrate "Single's Day", which is basically the opposite of Valentine's Day, according to Hugo Barra.
On Singles Day, Xiaomi had 380,000 devices on sale, out of which, the company had 110,000 units of each of its three smartphones - MI3, Hongmi and MI-2S. Apart from the cellular devices, Xiaomi also had 50,000 units of set-top boxes.
According to the report, Xiaomi managed to sell all the Mi3 stock in three minutes. The Chinese manufacture was able to generate RMB 107 million (about $17 million). And, by the end of the day, the company had managed to pile up RMB300 million (about $49 million).
The impressive sales once again confirm that Xiaomi has a huge potential, so we are hoping the company switches to more conventional sales practices soon and more people get access to its products.

Qualcomm's Adreno 330 GPU that powers the Snapdragon 800 is currently one of the most successful and powerful on the market. However, Qualcomm won't settle with resting on its laurels and the popular chipmaker is already working on its successor, the Adreno 400. The new GPU series is expected to debut alongside a new Snapdragon chipset.
In the past, Qualcomm has showcased its new innovations at CES and the company might well continue to do that early next year in the 2014 edition of the Consumer Electronic Show.


The Adreno 400 is said to come out with a significant boost to its graphic performance. However, if rumors are to be trusted, the Adreno 400 will not support OpenCL.
Currently, the Adreno 330 has the ability to push 3.6 Gigapixels per second. Naturally, the next iteration of the GPU is expected to be a lot quicker than that.
However, please keep in mind that there is no official word from Qualcomm just yet, so take all this information with a pinch of salt.

Sony reveals its Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade plans

Google officially announced the 4.4 KitKat a couple of days and today, Sony has revealed its Android upgrade roadmap. In an official blog post, the Japanese manufacturer has also announced its plans with the 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out.
As promised, Sony will be bringing the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to its Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR,Xperia SP, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Tablet Z. The software roll-out will begin from next month and as usual, the upgrades will seed region by region.


The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade list just doesn't end with the top-tier smartphones. Sony has confirmed that Xperia T, Xperia TX and the Xperia V will be upgraded to 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Sony is also the first smartphone manufacturer to break the news about its Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade cycle. For now, the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia Tablet Z will be in the queue to get the latest 4.4 KitKat update.
Google has already announced that the 4.4 KitKat is designed to scale and automatically fit on the devices with as little as 512 MB of RAM. So, the update might eventually make it to a numerous Xperia devices, but no further model names have been confirmed at the moment.
